A southern student longs to see real snow before winter ends. When it finally falls at 3 a.m., she steps outside—and finds she isn't alone.
小美站在宿舍的窗边。她二十岁，家在南方，在北方上大学。南方没有雪，她很想看看真的雪。可是今年冬天就要结束了，还没下过雪。
Xiaomei stood by the window of her dorm room. She was twenty, came from the south, and went to university in the north. There is no snow in the south, and she really wanted to see real snow. But this winter was almost over, and it still hadn't snowed.
那天晚上，外面下起大雪。已经半夜三点了，小美还没睡，坐在窗边看雪。她心想：“这就是真的雪！我要出去看看。”她心跳得很快，穿上大衣出了门。

外面风很大，雪还在下。她第一次站在真的雪里，伸出手，雪落在手上。她都忘了冷，一直看着手心里的雪。眼睛红了，但她在笑。
Outside, the wind was strong and the snow was still falling. For the first time, she was standing in real snow. She held out her hand, and snowflakes landed on it. She even forgot the cold and kept looking at the snow in her palm. Her eyes turned red, but she was smiling.
这时候，楼下看门的王大爷看见她在外面，也出来了。他六十多岁了，手里拿着两杯热茶。他给小美一杯，没有说话。小美接过茶，两个人就站在雪里看雪。
Just then, Mr. Wang, the old doorman downstairs, saw her outside and came out too. He was in his sixties and was holding two cups of hot tea. He gave Xiaomei one cup without saying a word. Xiaomei took the tea, and the two of them stood in the snow, watching it fall.
小美喝着热茶，心里很暖。她和王大爷都没有说话，一起抬头看着天上的雪。雪还在慢慢地下。
