Librarian Lin Mei's seedling grows taller every night. Determined to catch it, she stays awake—and discovers a secret visitor.
林梅是图书馆员，安静又认真。上个月她在家门口种了一颗小种子，每天早上都去看。因为这是她的第一个花园，所以她非常用心。
Lin Mei was a librarian, quiet and careful. Last month she had planted a small seed by her front door, and every morning she went to look at it. Because this was her first garden, she put her whole heart into it.
有一天早上，林梅发现小花长高了很多。她心想：“怎么一个晚上就长这么高了？”她看了又看，还是不知道为什么，就在小本子上写了一个问号。
One morning, Lin Mei found that the little flower had grown a lot taller. She thought: “How did it grow so tall in just one night?” She looked at it again and again, but she still didn't know why, so she wrote a question mark in her little notebook.
第二天，小花又长高了。林梅想：“我每天都来看，怎么没看到它长呢？因为晚上我在睡觉，所以没看到吧。”她决定今晚不睡，自己看一看。
The next day, the little flower had grown taller again. Lin Mei thought: “I come to look every day, so how come I've never seen it grow? It must be because I'm asleep at night, so I miss it.” She decided not to sleep tonight and to see it for herself.
那天晚上，林梅坐在窗边等。快十二点的时候，她看见邻居王阿姨拿着水壶给小花浇水。她很惊讶，就走到门口说：“王阿姨，谢谢您帮我浇水！”
That night, Lin Mei sat by the window and waited. Close to midnight, she saw her neighbor Auntie Wang with a watering can, watering the little flower. She was very surprised, so she went to the door and said: “Auntie Wang, thank you for watering it for me!”
王阿姨笑着说：“我很喜欢花，可是我家没有花园，所以晚上来看看它。”林梅听了，就请王阿姨和她一起照顾小花。从那天起，她们每天早上一起给小花浇水，小花开得很漂亮。
Auntie Wang smiled and said: “I really love flowers, but I don't have a garden at home, so I come to see it at night.” When Lin Mei heard this, she asked Auntie Wang to take care of the little flower with her. From that day on, they watered the little flower together every morning, and it bloomed beautifully.
